Even though Madeline Puckette has gone from a girl-with-her-guitar to an electronica producer, her emotive presence still shines through. It is through Puckette's delivery of breathy & almost tangible vocals that she adds her touch over self-produced glitchy electro hooks.
Madeline Puckette started performing in bands at age 14. At 16, Puckette recorded her all girl indie-rock band, Scarlet, with her independent company Madworld Records. She converted her attic into a studio to record her many musical interests: synth pop, electro, & indie music infused with live instrumentation.
Just after receiving her bachelors’ degree at CalArts, Puckette released her first solo album, The Thing She Desires, which was completed at her art/music-studio in Valencia, CA. The latest album, due this 2008, Madworld, Madeline Puckette has found her niche in electro, coining it Indie-Electronica.
On stage, Puckette performs with a microphone and laptop. She has performed along with dance choreographer & suicide girl, May-har Li, who was a fellow colleague at CalArts. The performances are intimate and leave us humming her tunes. Madeline Puckette has played music for names like Debbie Gibson and the trio Cleopatra, as well as innumerable clubs such as The Knitting Factory and The Echo in Los Angeles.
